Bespoke Huts
Steve Gilbey has been a builder for over 40 years doing general building, new builds and listed timber framed barns. Working on many top end projects throughout his long career. In January 2019 we launched our holiday let and have enjoyed meeting guests at our dog friendly barn. We have been considering expanding our holiday venture and began looking into Glamping with Shepherd huts and cabins. During our research we fell in love with the traditional huts and felt they would fit so well with our beautiful farm and the Wellness Retreat we would love to create.
We were considering buying the huts we need but when couple James and Leanne said they would love one for their property by the lake we began thinking why not use Steve’s skills and start building our own.

Work will now begin on our flagship hut “The Ryland” for our Glampsite. The Ryeland Hut is our flagship model and is hand made on by Steve. You never know you might stay in ours and decide you would love one of your own!
What will your hut be?
Shepherd huts frequently don’t need planning permission if being used for personal use. They can make great home offices, posh therapy rooms, garden rooms, a spare bedroom, even accommodation with en suite, bed and kitchen perhaps for a teenager in the family or elderly relative. Steve can deal with all stages of the project due to his building experience so we can quote for a base, electrics, water provision, landscaping, off grid solutions, log burning stoves, installation, log burning hot tubs, etc. We recommend two lovely log burning stoves, the Apple Pie by Saltfire Stoves and the more traditional Hobbit.
