Oaksbrook is a nature and animal inspired retreat. Based at Brook Farm, a rural gem in the heart of the Essex Countryside. Boasting a Self Catering holiday barn, luxury Shepherd hut Glamping, courses and workshops.

Brook Farm is a rural gem set in 20 acres of beautiful grassland with paddocks, woodland, trails, horses and sheep. It is a perfect place to relax and unwind and reconnect with nature.

A former dairy farm in the early 1900’s it has now been lovingly restored to create our Herdsman holiday barn, beautiful stables and a classroom space. Within our extensive grounds we are now creating a secluded spot surrounded by mature Pines and wild flower meadow for our luxury Shepherd Huts.

A Well-being Farm focussed on conservation and creating wildlife habitats and offering holistic therapies, nature based activities and complimentary therapies to enable our guests to reconnect with self, find balance and relaxation and enjoy the natural environment.

The Herdsman barn is a spacious one bedroom barn conversion with open plan kitchen/lounge/dining room. Primarily aimed at adults wanting to get away from it all for a relaxing break or those wishing to explore the surrounding areas and attractions. The farm is a haven for wildlife with regular sightings of Owls, Buzzards and Red Kites and is home to many animals both wild and domestic.

Our dog friendly barn has its own small courtyard garden with walks on site in our fully fenced, secure farm. Guests can book additional activities or a therapeutic session from host and Complimentary Therapist Jane. We also have on site gifts and craft items, our own brand of jams and chutneys and tasty treats.

The Herdsman is a very spacious one bedroomed barn conversion set in an L shaped courtyard away from the main house. It boasts a large bedroom with king sized bed, huge walk in wardrobe and stylish fully tiled wet room/en suite. The rest of the accommodation is open plan with a large central brick fire place. It boasts some Oak beams and vaulted ceiling to the kitchen/dining area which over looks the courtyard and its own self contained secure garden.

Our Exciting new project! We are creating a secluded, private Glamping Retreat nestled among mature pines and a young native wood with clearings of tall grasses and wild flowers. The accommodation will be beautifully hand crafted, home built Shepherd Huts. Our flagship hut the Ryeland will be the first of three and will be available for relaxing breaks from April 2021 plus a Lotusbelle Stargazer tent called the Shepherds Belle along with its very own 10’ x 6’ Shepherd hut shower and WC washroom the Croft Hut.

Ryeland Shepherd Hut is an off-grid eco hut nestled in 20 acres of idyllic rural farmland. This beautiful oak-clad hut offers a unique glamping experience with a luxurious selection of home comforts including a cosy wood-burning stove, functional kitchen, en-suite hot shower and even your own tv, yet is completely self-contained.
A Little Piece of the Wild
The Glamping area is a versatile space. At times the outdoor space will be available for small group use. Perhaps a meditation group or for an out door yoga practice, outdoor learning facility or a day retreat setting combined with use of the hut, a fire pit or out door kitchen or as part of a workshop based in our Walnut Barn.

Your host Jane is a Holistic Therapist for people and animals. In particular Jane loves to help people with their relationships and connection to their pets, but also to help those with or without pets or animals in their lives discover the wonderful healing benefits these wise teachers can bring. Jane has a repertoire of qualifications in nature based therapies and modalities spanning many decades. She is proprietor both for Oaksbrook and for her animals based work with Natural Answer.
Jane is an Advanced member of the BFVEA and works with Flower and Vibrational Essences from around the world to support people and animals through their life’s ups and downs. Jane has many qualifications to create an integrative and holistic approach. She also facilitates some of the craft classes and workshops held at Brook Farm and her affinity with animals and love of nature reflects in many aspects you will experience at the farm.
Jane particularly likes to help people and animals with confidence issues and anxiety. She can help with trauma release and overcoming limiting beliefs. She is available for consultations and offers different levels of packages for those that need more support and space for their healing journey. Equine Assisted Learning sessions will also soon be available.
