Our Story
Welcome to Oaksbrook. For over 12 years, Steve and I have poured our hearts into nurturing Brook Farm, transforming it into the 20-acre sanctuary it is today. What started as a dream to live more simply alongside our horses and dogs has grown into a multi-faceted retreat where nature does the heavy lifting of healing. Whether you are staying in the Herdsman, nesting in the Ryeland hut, or visiting for a therapeutic session, my hope is that you feel the same sense of peace and reconnection that this land gives to us every single day.

Our charming Shepherds Belle offers a wonderful, flexible addition to your stay. During our day retreats, it serves as a private dressing and relaxation sanctuary, providing a cozy, secluded space to change and unwind in complete privacy. Alternatively, for those booking the Ryeland, the Belle can be hired as an exclusive add-on to accommodate two extra guests.

The Herdsman

The Herdsman barn is a spacious one bedroom barn conversion with open plan kitchen/lounge/dining room. Primarily aimed at adults wanting to get away from it all for a relaxing break or those wishing to explore the surrounding areas and attractions. The farm is a haven for wildlife with regular sightings of Owls, Buzzards and Red Kites and is home to many animals both wild and domestic.
ABOUT BROOK FARM
Before discovering our farm in 2007, Steve and I spent over a decade searching for the perfect rural property with barns and land for my horses. When we finally moved in, the tired little bungalow was so dire we had to live in an old caravan! Yet, that first warm summer of glamping under the stars, BBQing every night, and working on major renovations gave us some of our most cherished memories. As a builder, Steve took on much of the heavy lifting, while my background as a holistic well-being practitioner inspired my long-held ambition to create a dedicated space for healing and rest.
Nurturing this environment has been an incredible journey, particularly through our collaborations with the Woodland Trust. We have planted over 1,800 native hedges and trees, including a special WW1 Memorial Wood with a quiet viewing bench at the farm's highest point. Today, our mature oaks, tall protective pines, reed beds, and a vibrant wildlife pond shelter a wonderful mix of animals—including our small flock of Coloured Ryeland sheep, Arabian horses, chickens, and dogs—all living as natural a life as possible.
Woodland Champions Club CERTIFIED
Woodland Champions Club was established in 2017 to help landowners create and manage woodland and open them up for members of the pubic to use. Their commitment is to plant trees with the help of the woodland trust and site members.
